Representatives from OOCL Logistics and COSCO team
Thousands of representatives from top brands and enterprises, government and research institutes joined the exhibition and summit to discuss and showcase about how different industries collaborate and contribute to a better future in Logistics with smart technologies. Big data, cloud computing, IoT (Internet of Things), blockchain and artificial intelligence are deeply integrated with the logistics industry. Adaptation to the digitalization trend will be critical for companies to survive the ever-demanding globalized environment.
Kenny Ye, CEO of OOCL Logistics, shared in the discussion forum that the integration, symbiosis and win-win strategy of logistics enterprises with other industries will be an important trend in future development. As a member of the entire logistics ecosystem, OOCL Logistics practices the same strategy with our customers and partners through digitalization in supply chain to increase productivity and efficiency with innovation.
Many entities contribute to supply chain success: vendors, customs, transportation and other logistics service providers, forwarders etc. OOCL Logistics facilitates timely sharing of information in supply chain, improving end to end visibility and enabling consumers to quickly handle exceptions by building digital solutions such as our control tower platform. OOCL Logistics also launched TMS (Transportation Management System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System) cloud services for logistics companies and cargo owners who do not have their own logistics systems.
Kenny Ye suggested that “One of the most important aspects of logistics digitization is the collection of real-time data from various IoT devices such as GPS devices and temperature & pressure sensors. Our logistics cloud services can collect different sets of real-time data. With GPS data, cargos can be tracked and traced. With real time temperature and pressure monitoring, alert can be sent immediately for abnormal data to avoid losses. We can analyze and learn from the historical data collected from IoT and provide future forecast.”
Combining OOCL Logistics' capability in container transportation and overseas logistics networks with JD's expertise in warehousing, distribution and logistics technology, our cooperation with JD.com for cross-border e-commerce shall be gratifying.
